The number almost nobody checks: net peptide content
Purity and content are not the same number. A vial can read 98 percent pure and still hold a fraction of the labeled amount, because the rest is salt and water. HPLC purity tells you how clean the peptide fraction is. Net peptide content tells you how much peptide is actually there. A certificate that reports purity but not content has answered the easier question and left the expensive one open. If the line is not on the page, the amount is unconfirmed.

| Compound identified | The substance the sample was tested as, named in full. Identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry, which checks the molecular mass matches the expected structure. Purity answers how clean. Identity answers whether it is even the right molecule. |
| HPLC purity | High performance liquid chromatography separates the sample so the proportion attributable to the target molecule can be measured. The chromatogram is the picture behind the number. A figure with no chart is a claim typed into a box. |
| Net peptide content | How much peptide is actually in the vial, separate from the water and salt that travel with it. This is the number the category buries, and the one most readers miss. Purity can be high while content runs well under the label. |
| Batch, lot and date | A certificate covers one specific lot on one specific date. The lot number on the report should match the number on the vial. A catalogue-wide COA, or one with no lot number, describes nothing in particular. |
| The lab and signed report | The named independent lab that ran the tests and signed the document. A report you cannot trace to a named lab is not third-party tested. |
The strongest check: a signed report you can confirm with the lab
A vendor-provided PDF can be edited. The strongest verification is a signed certificate of analysis from a named independent lab, with the chromatogram and net peptide content on it, that you can confirm directly with the lab that issued it. If a report cannot be traced to its source, treat it as a claim, not a proof.
